Mt. Lassen National Park is one of the hidden gems of the National Park system. Manzanita Lake is adjacent to the park camp ground. It was a 15 minute walk to this location from my sleeping bag. As I walked around the shore in the predawn light I was very excited to see the mist rising off the water. As I scouted for a location for my morning shoot I looked up and saw the saucer like cloud forming above the peak. It reminded me of all the sci fi movies I have watched.
My all time favorite is still is Star Trek, but please no Captain Kirk references!
